"Kay-Boo" comes through; Flashes Gals come from behind to squeak past B-Town

"Two Names grabs another rebound

"Kay-Boo" makes a clean block

"Sugar" grabs an offensive rebound
With stellar senior guard Jessie "Slick" Foulks injured in the first quarter, the Flashes Gals were in a real scrap with the deceptivly quick Lady Scotties. A smooth ball handler who also contributes points and rebounds on a consistant basis, "Slick" suffered a blow to the head that sent her to the bench for the remainder of the game. The Lady Flashes still managed to win the first quarter 16-10, but the Scotties Gals came back to take the second quarter 10-2 as the flashes Gals offense struggled with ball handling and running their offense. The Lady Flashes tied the game up with a 13-11 third quarter as "Kay-Boo" Boone and "Sugar" Hightower ruled the offensive paint. "Kay-Boo" (who had 14 in Thursday's win over Medford Tech) scored 11 points and "Sugar" (who was scorless in the last game) contributed 5. Sarah "Too Much" Muchowski led all scorers with 13 points. The super freshman kept the Lady Flashes in the game down the stretch with her clutch free throw shooting (8-8). Erin "Sweets" Sweeney, hampered by foul trouble added 4 before fouling out, "slick" had 2 before getting hurt. Stephanie "Two Names Allison had 2 points, a ton of rebounds and was awesome on defense. Molly "Big Kate" Fitzpatrick and Torie "Big Tee" Povia who filled in for "Slick" each added a point to round out the scoring. With "Slick" out of the game, Coach Cip had to rely on his only remaing senior for leadership on the court and "Kay Boo" got the job done. Mostly noted for her defense and quickness on the floor, "Kay Boo" has begun to show her improved offensive skills and team leadership abilities as she and "Slick" are grooming their younger teamates (1 junior 2 sophomores and a freshman in the first six rotation and two sophomores and a junior as the top reserves) for a possible playoff berth.
